Criterias for Forestry Science Studies in Nepal || Institute of Forestry and Faculty of Forestry are providing courses in Nepal.

This Bachelor of Science in Forestry is 4 years course taught by these two major Universities of Nepal i.e. Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) - Faculty of Forestry and Tribhuvan University - Institute of Forestry. This course is designed to help you to find a career that focuses on worldwide environmental issues and work for Nature and the community in various fields of the forestry sector worldwide.

Both Academic and practical level of knowledge is provided by these two universities in Nepal. You will explore the biological diversity within Terai, Hills and Mountain regions from East to west  of Nepal. The syllabus pattern us designed to educate and motivate students to conserve nature and development of careers by providing the opportunity to travel to different places over 4 years.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Education: Intermediate of Science 

I.Sc./Diploma in Forestry, +2 Science (Biology), A-level or equivalent degree at least 100 full marks in English, Forestry, and biology and minimum 50% in mathematics and Physics in total must obtain 50% marks.

2. Minimum Percentage: Must score at least 'C' grade or 2 GPA or minimum aggregate score of 50%.

3. Entrance Examination and Interview: To enroll, you have to fillup form, get through entrance exam and the Interview within the universities. these tests include subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Forestry Aptitude.

Every yeat 2000+ students take their entrance examination to get enrolled in this course. Among these 409 students are eligible to get enrolled in this course in Nepal and also out of 409 students 309 students study under the Nepal government scholarship program but 100 have to study under the payment category also under government provision udf students also have to pay partial amount to study.

1. Institute of Forestry

This institute intake total of 210 (80+80+50) students every year in Nepal. The IOF offers two academic programs: a three-year Technical Certificate in Forestry (TCF) and a Four-year Bachelor of Science in Forestry (B.Sc.Forestry).

A. IOF:Pokhara Campus and Hetauda Campus

B) Kathmandu Forestry College (KAFCOL)

Kathmandu Forestry College (KAFCOL) was established to run the following four academic programs:

(i) B.Sc. Forestry in affiliation with the Tribhuvan University, Nepal, 

(ii) Diploma in Forestry in affiliation with the Council for Technical Education and was Vocational Training (CTEVT), Government of Nepal, and

III) M. Sc. in Geographical Information Science & Systems (GIS Science) in collation with the University of Salzburg, Austria

IV) M. Sc. Natural Resource Management & Rural Development (TU)

This Faculty intake total of 190 (95+54+50) students every year in Nepal. The FOF offers two academic programs Four years Bachelor of Science in Forestry & 2 years of M.Sc. Forestry.
